FEE COLLECT SUMARY Fee Collect is a service that enables taxpayers who e-file to deduct their tax preparation fees directly from their refund. The difference between Fee Collect and IRS direct file options: • If a refund is due, the IRS allows you to have your refund disbursed to you by direct deposit into your personal bank account or as a check mailed to your home, but the IRS cannot deduct and pay your tax preparer fees from your refund. • Fee Collect allows you to use the refund to pay the tax preparation fees (which includes a $35.00 transfer bank charge). The only fee deducted from the refund is the tax preparer fees. The balance of the refund is direct deposited to the account designated by you. If a balance due return is filed, Fee Collect allows you to pay the tax preparation fee via an ACH debit of your personal bank account or by credit card.
IRS Refund Options • Direct Deposit Refund received in about 8-15 days. The IRS does not charge for this service. Tax preparer's fees will need to be paid at time of service• Mailed Check. Refund received in about 21-28 days The IRS does not charge for this service. Tax preparer's fees will need to be paid at time of service.
Fee Collect Options • Allows tax preparer's fees to be paid from the refund or via ACH debit of your personal bank account. • Refund received in 8-15 days. • A $35.00 transfer bank charge is included in tax preparation fees. • Fee Collect is NOT a loan. • A State refund can also be processed via Fee Collect. The timeframe for payment of the refund depends on the State's refund cycle.Rejected deposits are converted by the bank to a cashier's check and mailed to you. If a deposit is misdirected because an incorrect account number was provided to the bank and the bank is unable to retrieve the refund, either the taxpayer or the preparer can be held liable for the refund depending on who provided the incorrect account number.
